Once in a while we get to know special people who overcome the limitations of disease or disability to accomplish extraordinary things. Meet Krystyna Murdzek, an astounding athlete with a kidney transplant.

Krystyna Murdzek from Poland has always been an athlete. She has always been a sporting ace. Yet during university, her kidneys showed the first signs they were not working properly. She ignored the symptoms, and as you can imagine, her kidneys deteriorated slowly but surely, making dialysis inevitable. She opted for a kidney transplant and kept on working out. In the years that followed, she not only organised different sports events, she also founded the Polish Transplant Sports Association.
