Our specialised professionals

More than just a job

At NephroCare, we are aware of our responsibility to empower our staff through a modern and dynamic working environment. As such, we include our employees in organisational and work-related decision-making which nurtures a target-oriented and efficient attitude, motivation as well as a continuous professional and social development. As a result, our staff are committed to delivering the highest possible quality of care.

In a clinical setting, not only technology and medical expertise are essential. Our professionals also provide a human and emotional link with the patients and as such are very important for patient compliance and well-being.

Development of expert personnel

The commitment of our specialised professionals is key for the well-being of our patients. At NephroCare we are committed to providing our people with what they need to do their work in the best way possible.

By helping our teams in the dialysis centres to develop their skills we improve the quality of our service. That’s why we support the staff of our individual centres with a mix of continuous training programmes, educational events and conference attendance.

These measures help keep staff up-to-date with the latest clinical developments as well as organisational requirements and procedures.

Congresses

Physicians and nurses are encouraged to attend and contribute, by submitting scientific abstracts, to national and international congresses and symposia such as ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant Association) and EDTNA/ERCA (European Renal Association –European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association).

Furthermore, yearly international meetings of the Country Head Nurses and Country Medical Directors encourage the exchange of valuable ideas and experiences, identify our network’s needs and help us find the best ways to develop and improve the dialysis working processes. The professional development of nursing staff is actively supported through regular training events and informative publications such as NursingNow!, the nursing magazine with training and patient care features.

Training and education

Getting the most out of cutting-edge technology requires extensive knowledge and experience about the application of the products and technology used. NephroCare´s expertise from countless regional training workshops goes beyond regulatory training requirements and enhances daily practice situations.

Keeping up-to-date with latest dialysis developments is crucial for any dialysis professional. NephroCare physicians and nurses participate in local and international events each year. Besides the direct training in new technologies and applications, these events also serve as an invaluable forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences with other dialysis specialists. A number of these events are also certified by regional medical associations and may qualify for CME credits.

E-learning

NephroCare´s e-learning platform is a widely-accepted training tool among our international centres and actively used in 70 countries. More than 37,000 learners can chose from among almost 1000 multi-lingual courses for their professional development and compliance training. Courses may relate to nursing, medical or non-medical topics and are provided in local languages.

Employee satisfaction programme

To ensure that the staff’s needs and expectations are met, NephroCare carries out an Employee Satisfaction Survey every year. These surveys help identify opportunities for improvement. In 2015, respondents particularly appreciated the way they could use their professional competences at work and the well-being of the patients as the main focus of their work.

When asked what they would like to improve, employees responded that they would like to extend the opportunities for further professional development.
