An international friendship through dialysis

In our NephroCare centres people from different countries and different cultures often meet on a regular basis. Some of these encounters turn into friendships. A dialysis nurse from Namibia tells her story.

Saima had to flee from Namibia to Angola in her youth to escape from the war. She speaks about the difficult time and also about the opportunity of studying nursing care in Czechia thanks to a scholarship. During her time at nursing school she met and became friends with Fata from Senegal. The two women remained closely connected even after Saima returned to her home country. The NephroCare centre in Kladno now had the great pleasure to host their reunion after many years. Our article provides insight into an eventful life and a transnational friendship.
